As the regional governing body for karting in Northern Ireland, NIKA are able to submit applications to Sports Northern Ireland for drivers to be considered for financial support through the 'Talented Athlete' support programme. In order to assess each drivers merit, NIKA has set up a criteria, which each driver must meet before submissions are made to Sports NI.

Sports NI have three different submission dated throughout the year, however NIKA only make applications in Ocotber, for inclucion in the programme the following year.

Due to the number of applications being submitted to Sports NI, NIKA cannot gaurantee that all applications submitted will be approved by Sports NI.

Matthew Campbell - British Superkart 125 champion
Philip Harkness - Rotax Max Super 1 race winner
Justin Doherty - UK Cup Superkart 125 champion
Ryan Magennis - Super 1 Formula TKM competitor
William Herron - Super 1 Junior Max competitor
